Progressive Party Offers Advice on Remaining Bills at Oregon Legislature

As the 2001 Session of the Oregon Legislature draws to a close, there remain many bills realistically still on the table. The State Council of the Oregon Progressive Party on June 3 offered its views on 11 such bills. SB 40:  Removes State Income Tax Deduction for Contributions to Charities that Spend Less than 30% of their Budgets on Actual Charitable Services (in House Revenue Committee; passed Senate)
SB 695A: Bans Baby Bottles and Drinking Cups for Children Containing Chemical Clearly Linked to Cancer, Diabetes, Autism, and Other Problems (in House Energy, Environment and Water Committee; passed Senate)
SB 742A: Allows In-State Tuition for Non-Citizens Who Have Been in Oregon Schools for 3 Years (in House Rules Committee; passed Senate)
